There are also some islands that can be visited by boat, such as Porquerolles, Port Cros and les îles de Lérins.

BEACHES AND LAKES

The coastline offers a large range of beaches including the famous beaches of Saint Tropez, Ramatuelle, Sainte Maxime, Saint Raphaël, Le Lavandou, Cannes and Antibes-Juan les Pins.

You will also find refreshment in one of the lakes such as the lake of Saint Cassien (near Fayence) and the lake of Sainte Croix (in the Gorges du Verdon).

WALKS AND HIKES

Nature lovers will not be disappointed and can choose from many walks and hikes offering beautiful landscapes, dense forests, rivers and waterfalls.

You can go walking by yourself with a hiking map or opt for a professional guide that will take care of the daily organisation for you.

There are different mountains chains in the region such as the Massif de l’Esterel, the Massif des Maures and the ‘Vallée des Merveilles’ located in the natural park of the Mercantour.

TOURISTIC AND CULTURAL SITES

Wine castles:

The Var region (83) offers 37.000 hectares of vineyards, including the famous Côte de Provence and Bandol. Do not hesitate to go for a visit, the wine producers will welcome you for a guided tour and wine tastings.

Provincial markets:

Thanks to the subtropical climate, the markets are filled with fresh and local products. It is a pleasant moment wandering through the stalls, enjoy the mix of Provincial smells and meet the local producers.
On the market you will find fruits and vegetables of all kinds and colours, a full range of herbs, honey, jams, olives, olive oil, cheeses as well as soaps, flowers and tablecloths.
Usually you can find many cafés around the market to enjoy a drink and taste the atmosphere.

Museums:

You will find many museums in the region such as Musée Picasso (in Antibes), Musée International de la Parfumerie (in Grasse), Musée d’Archéologie (in Antibes), Fondation Maeght (in Saint Paul de Vence).

WATER ACTIVITIES

In the sea, lakes and rivers you can enjoy many water activities such as pedal boats, windsurfing, swimming and fishing.
For the sports enthusiasts there is also rafting, canyoning, parapenting and hill climbing!

To spend fun moments with your family and friends, there are many boat excursions, water parcs, zoos, beaches, caves, water activities and the Oceanographic museum of Monaco.
